Glendon University College Spring Gala
Julie McDonough Dolmaya was one of the Glendon alumni invited to speak at the Spring Gala for new applicants to York University's Glendon Campus. She talked about her work experience as a translator, lexicographer and university professor since receiving her Bachelor of Arts from Glendon in 2002.

PhD dissertation defended
Julie McDonough Dolmaya successfully defended her doctoral thesis Framed! Translations, Paratexts and Narratives of Nationalism, Independence Movements and the 1980/1995 Referenda in Canada, 1968-2000, with special focus on Mordecai Richler's Oh Canada! Oh Quebec! and Pierre Vallières' Nègres blancs d'Amérique.

In several weeks, she will submit the final copies of her thesis to the University of Ottawa and obtain her degree.

Literary translations
Julie McDonough Dolmaya and María Sierra Córdoba Serrano have translated 'Deux jours pour oublier', a short story by Marie Célie Agnant, into English and Spanish, respectively. Their translations will be published this spring in Translit volume 8.
